COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to bring the student into an understanding of how to study the bible “line upon line” and “precept upon precept”. This study emphasizes the importance of allowing the scriptures to interpret themselves.
OBJECTIVES
By the end of the course, the student should be able to:
- Explain how God dealt with sin under the Old Covenant.
- Explain how the Old Covenant is our schoolmaster.
- Using scriptural support, discuss the role the Determinate Council played in Jesus Christ’s death.
- Explain the importance of staying within the boundaries when rightly dividing theword.
- Using scriptural support, discuss the role of the apostles in establishing andmaintaining the boundaries set by Jesus Christ.
- Using scriptural support, explain the detriment of teaching and preaching outside the boundaries of the faith.
- Explain the method God used to keep the Church within the boundaries of the faith.
- Explain the difference between the things that pertain to the spirit of the world and the things that pertain to the Spirit of God.
- Differentiate between the people of the spirit of the world and the people of the Spirit of God.
- Explain what has been given to us freely according to 1 Cor. 2:12-13?
- Using scriptural support, outline at least four attributes of “that life” that are within the boundaries of the faith.
- Using scriptural support, explain what it means to be one with God.
- Discuss what it means to “have the mind of Christ.”
